Taking the Time to Make the Time aka How to Have a Happy Marriage (Xperience Days Review)

After almost fourteen years together and eleven married years later, I have always said that the key to a happy marriage is spending quality time together.  When we first met we were both young, single, carefree, young…..time was all we had. Time for long talks that lasted into the wee hours of the morning. Time for romantic dinners for two. Time for spontaneous trips to the beach.

However, three children later those moments are rare and hard to come by. The secret? Making it a priority and taking the time out of a busy day, week, or even month to carve out those moments. Though they may be few and far between, those moments that we steal, just the two of us, are the glue that holds us together.

This past summer we celebrated our eleventh anniversary without much of a celebration. We had a quick dinner of appetizers and a round of two-for-one draft beers at our local Chili’s. Nothing super fancy but still, it was an hour of child-free grownup time.

Last month I was approached by Xperience Days about doing a review (in exchange for my very own free experience) of their  service and I thought to myself that this was the perfect opportunity for an anniversary do-over! My hubby and I did something that I, quite honestly, never would have thought to do without the gentle prompt of Xperience Days……We went on a three hour tour. That’s right, I said it! We took a dinner cruise on Skaneateles Lake right here in Central New York.

Xperience Days Review

We enjoyed a delicious Prime Rib dinner for two while cruising up and down the serene, crystal clear lake. It could not have been more romantic!

Xperience Days ReviewAfter dining we walked around the deck checking out the scenery and the McMansions along the shore and then headed in for dessert and coffee. It was wonderful!
