The joy of music ~ Wordless Wednesday

little girl playing piano

Some of my favorite childhood memories involve music. Taking piano lessons as a girl, seeing the look of joy on my mother’s face when the delivery truck unloaded her new upright, listening to my nana and grandpa play the organ, pulling the Christmas Carols out of the piano stand and playing…..the list goes on.

So needless to say it absolutely melts my heart to see my daughters enjoying that same love of music! That same upright piano that was delivered to my mother on that day so long ago still sits in her living room. The kids run straight to it every single time we visit and play from those same books that I did as a little girl. Those family traditions are going strong and I could not be happier about it!

  1. What a beautiful tradition. Music can be such a joy.

  2. My parents could not play the piano but LOVED music and my brother and I both had lessons growing up. He is now in a Master’s program at the U of U. I can play mostly decently, but my artistic love lies in the theatre. My daughter will go to a piano and pick out the “Westminster Chimes” as she calls them. She is clock and dinosaur obsessed! *lol*

    • LuAnne, your daughter sounds like a precious little girl! Dinosaurs are kind of an obsession for my oldest too. We went to the museum of Natural History in DC last summer and she was beside herself…lol!

  3. Oh what beautiful pictures!! Music is SUCH a precious part of our lives as well… your kids will cherish both the memories and the music for the rest of their lives, just like you! :)
